CVP Migration -
blue elephant systems (BES) welcomes you to the MIDAS product family.

As communicated by Hewlett-Packard, HP will no longer sell Configuration Value Pack (CVP). This decision was made for a number of reasons:

• to shorten the response time for customer support calls

• to give you access to the entire family of MIDAS products from a single source

What does not change?

• The product CVP is technically identical to BES' MIDAS Configurator. All your investments in CVP will be retained, no matter whether HP is your primary partner or BES.

• You can continue to get support from HP until your current support agreement expires.

• You can continue to download patches and new releases from HP until your current support contract expires.

What is new?

• You have to contact BES for new license keys if needed (for example: change of CVP server IP address)

• You may download patches, and new releases directly from BES.

• You may contact BES directly for support. This service will be at no additional cost until your current support contract with HP expires. At that time you may contact BES for a new support agreement.
  

• You may further enhance your investment in HP Operations Manager for Unix with these additional MIDAS products:

  • MIDAS Administrator is designed to help you to improve your OMU release management processes.

  • In early 2009 we plan to release MIDAS Analyzer to help you to analyze OMU messages for the purpose of message reduction.

  • Other MIDAS products are in the planning and development stage.

The registration is also important in order to receive new license keys. Your current license keys remain valid until they expire or you install the next major release of HP Configuration Value Pack or MIDAS Configurator.
