MIDAS Synchronizer is now available with MIDAS 4.1
Most larger IT organizations have to synchronize one or more HP Operations Manager for Unix (OMU) servers. The requirements include hot stand-by, disaster recovery, server pooling and Manager-of-Manager configurations.
The common solutions is do a download - transfer - upload of the existing HP OM/U configuration to the stand-by server. Even with the help of some scripts and if this is done 3-4 times a day, your stand-by servers are only in-sync for a short time. Differences are inevitably but can have serious consequences if you are forced to switch between servers.
MIDAS Synchronizer enables you to replicate all configuration changes between your OMU servers.
If MIDAS Configurator is installed on all OMU server simply add MIDAS Synchronizer. Configure MIDAS Synchronizer so it knows which OMU objects to synchronize to which server and then go to work. From then on, every change you make in MIDAS on your OMU server will be automatically replicated on the target OMU server. No download, transfer, upload. No delay. No risk. This is as close to real-time-synchronization as you can get.
